Despite their claims, HUDisplay is most definitely NOT the only place to get your Canadian-tinged gaming news and information. Aside from Aboot Play (we tend to mostly dish up indie news, along with LARP and urban gaming), there's other great sites like Toronto Thumbs and NextGenPlayer that regularly serve up more traditional video gaming news with some definite Canadian flava. Not only that, but we're all based out of Toronto, primarily, which is also where HUDisplay calls home.
For what my opinion is worth (oooooodles), it probably would've been a good idea for the HUDisplay team to get in touch with TT and NGP about contributing to their already well-established sites with dedicated fan followings, rather than try to start something up that isn't offering anything different. It also might've been a good idea to use Google before making such bizarre claims on their *About Page* as well.

I guess we should've been more clear on our About page about what exactly we're trying to accomplish.
I sat down with Paul from NextGen the other day to talk about our mandate - what we're looking to do is become the glue/backbone that binds the Canadian gaming network together.
If there's any way we can help anybody with anything please drop us a line. We want to tease your sites from our site, aggregate your content if you'd like, but ideally we're looking to do investigative features and original journalistic content, (since both myself and c0gs have honours degrees in journalism and our specializations were in investigative/tech/broadcast journalism)
Besides it seems like you guys all already seem to have a really good handle on the news briefs situation.
I'm working on compiling a page on our site of all the Canadian gaming blogs, for easier networking purposes for everyone on the scene, so please send me links or thumbnails photos (for links) so I can get every one of you up ASAP :D
