Ubisoft drops Sex Bob-omb

pilgrimgamethumbUbisoft and Scott Pilgrim comic-creator Bryan Lee O'Malley announced at Comic-con that a game based on the upcoming movie Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is officially in production. O'Malley says that he'll be "very involved" with the project.

Although the studio obviously isn't setup yet, doesn't it sound like this would be a great project to be made at Ubisoft's new Toronto location? The Scott Pilgrim world takes place in Toronto, is created by a Toronto comic-artist and writer, and the movie that the game is being based on is also being shot in Toronto. With the project only a few weeks into it's development it's still possible that the bulk of its production will actually take place in the center of the univ- err, Toronto, once pre-production gets completed.

Check out O'Malley's live journal (it still amazes me how many comic artists use LJ) and twitter stream for more updates, possibly. Possibly not. Check'em out anyways; he was the first to say that IGN was pulling beads out of its ass when they said it'd be a PSN/XBLA download-only game. If it does come out on PSN, though, mayhaps Bryan and I can kick some co-op ass together online?
