It's no secret that Toronto has a thriving indie-game development community, so it shouldn't be much of a surprise that our friends in la belle province have been a bit envious of TO's "Scene", so to speak. Stephen Ascher's had enough, and he's decided to get a Montreal chapter of Jim Munroe's Artsy Games Incubator (in which Aboot Play's own Nadine is taking part) up and running in the city of poutine and overly-excitable hockey fans.
Le Incubator (as I think it should be called) is going to officially get going in August, maybe September. If you've always wanted to take a crack at making a game, but lack art/coding/etc experience (or even just the confidence) then you should really consider taking part; the AGI is designed to help newbs get their feet wet in game production, regardless of their previous experience (or lack thereof). Get in touch with the man at stephen.ascher at gmail.com, and if you want to get an AGI up and running in your town, but need some advice on the best way to do it, I imagine Jim is a good guy to get in touch with.
Now go make something rad.
